An MPRN (Meter Point Reference Number) is a unique number used to identify your gas supply point in the UK and Ireland. 

This 6- to 10-digit number ensures that gas is delivered to the correct location and allows for accurate billing.

Unlike the MPAN for electricity, the MPRN is specific to gas supplies and does not include additional components like a profile type or check digit. 

It is simply a static number assigned to your gas meter by the Gas Distribution Network (GDN) and remains the same even if you switch gas suppliers.
